About Us
A ‘community development organization, which is deeply rooted in bridging the gap, & implementation of multiple welfare schemes (by central or state or local govt.) Tapasya has been operating in Maharashtra since 2018, focusing on Social Justice.
Challenges
​​​In a country like India having 1.40 billion population, 83% families are earning less than 1.2 lakh/annum; i.e., 10k/month. Here the role of welfare schemes becomes very important in meeting the basic needs of these families. However, only 64% of social welfare schemes are reaching the end beneficiaries, as per Internation Labour Organization (ILO report ,2025).

Operating Model
At Tapasya, we address these challenges through low-cost, high-impact interventions that create a supportive ecosystem. Our trained community enablers—called Sakhis—engage directly with vulnerable families through regular home visits, ensuring access to doorstep services. They also collaborate with local government service providers such as ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers (AWW), PDS shopkeepers, Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and Gram Panchayats to strengthen last-mile delivery. Together, our Tapasya Seva Kendras and Sakhis act as a vital bridge between families and the social welfare schemes they are entitled to.

Unlocking multiple welfare schemes
Our main focus is on the Leadership Development of community people around unlocking access to multiple social welfare schemes, who will be supported on - Community-level Awareness of various welfare schemes and their benefits and process. - Identification of eligible families who can apply for any eligible schemes. - Document readiness: Helping families ensure all required documents are ready. - Application support: Supporting families to apply for all the eligible schemes by filling the application either online or offline and get their final benefits.
